History

Strong growth in the EU and new inroads in the US

In 2007, ProStrakan continued the trend of being one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Europe. Sales rose 22%, and new chairman Peter Allen took over from Harry Stratford, who retired at the end of 2007

International Evolution

  • 2008 ProStrakan debuts in the United States.
  • 2007 Distribution agreement with LG Life Sciences in South Korea is signed for SANCUSO™, a patch for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Tostran™ launches in the UK. Droperidol™ receives EU approval.
  • 2006 The Drug Discovery Unit, formerly ProSkelia, is sold. Zindaclin™ is out-licensed to Crawford Healthcare. ProStrakan and Cellegy enter into an exclusive license agreement for Tostran™ and Rectogesic™. ProStrakan collaborates with both Novartis (bone) and Amgen (renal). Tabphyn™ launches in the UK. Adcal-D3 Dissolve™ launches in the UK and quickly becomes a market leader.
  • 2005 ProStrakan is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker PSK, and is recognized as one of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Scotland. Rapinyl™ is in-licensed. Tostran™ launches in Sweden. Rectogesic™ launches in the UK and is licensed in the EU. APS Pharma is acquired in Germany.
  • 2004 Strakan and ProSkelia merge to create ProStrakan. Paris-based OTL Pharma is acquired. Elfar, a Madrid-based pharmaceutical company is acquired. Tostrex™ is approved in Sweden. Tostran™ is in-licensed. Zindaclin™ launches in Australia and New Zealand.
  • 2001 Isotard XL™ is in-licensed in the UK.
  • 2000 OTL Pharma is founded.
  • 1999 Adcal D3™ is in-licensed.
  • 1995 Strakan is founded by Harry Stratford and Professor John Kanis in Galashiels, Scotland.
